Domestic Crude Oil Sales
Crude oil produced by TPAO is bought by the refineries operating domestically according to the 10th article of Petroleum Market Law number 5015 based on the prices set by the same law. The three points of sale are Batman, Dortyol and Marmara Ereglisi. Crude oil produced is bought by TUPRAS which is the only refinery of Turkey.
All of the crude oil produced in Batman Region is transported to the Batman BOTAS terminal by two main pipelines and stored in 6 tanks located in this terminal with a capacity of 150.000 barrels each. After necessity of Batman TUPRAS refinery (varying according to the season) is satisfied, remaining crude oil is transported to the BOTAS Dortyol Terminal by Batman-Dortyol pipeline with a length of 500 km.
Crude oil produced in Diyarbakır Region is delivered to the BOTAS Pirinclik Station via pipeline from where the connection made through Batman-Dortyol pipeline in order to reach BOTAS Dortyol Terminal.
Also, crude oil produced in Adiyaman region is delivered to the BOTAS Saril Station via pipeline from where the connection made through Batman-Dortyol pipeline in order to reach BOTAS Dortyol Terminal.
Crude oil transported to BOTAS Dörtyol terminal is stored in 5 tanks with a capacity of 150.000 barrels and transported to Izmir, Izmit and Ceyhan(in order to transport to Kirikkale Refinery) Refineries by a sea tanker of 320.000 barrels.
Crude oil produced in Thrace Region transported via road tankers to OPET Marmara Ereğlisi Seaport and stored in a tank with a capacity of 70.000 barrels. Crude oil is delivered to Izmit Refinery by sea tanker.
TPAO’s domestic crude oil sale for 2017 is approximately 12.500.000 barrels.
